Gang members accused of attempted robbery
Two gang members were arrested Wednesday after one was stabbed by his intended victim during what police say was a botched robbery.
Police arrested Silvino Dos Santos, 20, and Bradford Thayer, 19, around 1 a.m. Wednesday after they showed up at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment of a stab Dos Santos sustained.
When members of the Spokane Violent Crimes Gang Enforcement Team contacted Dos Santos and Thayer at the hospital, they learned they came to Spokane to rob someone, police said.

When members of the Spokane Violent Crimes Gang Enforcement Team contacted Dos Santos and Thayer at the hospital, they learned they came to Spokane to rob someone, police said.
Dos Santos and Thayer allegedly entered a home armed with a shotgun and got into a struggle with the resident, according to a police news release.
During the struggle, the resident allegedly stabbed Dos Santos and the suspects fled, leaving the shotgun behind, police said.
Dos Santos was released from the hospital later Wednesday, and he and Thayer were booked into Spokane County Jail.
The two men were charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and first-degree assault, police said; both were identified as gang members from Omak, Wash.
