Crash near Cheney leaves two injured

Two men were transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center at 5:50 a.m. Saturday for injuries they sustained when their vehicle drifted off a road and hit several trees.

The driver, Jimmy Sijohn, 35, was treated and released the same day. He faces a charge of vehicular assault, the Washington State Patrol said. Police suspect drug or alcohol use may have caused the crash, which occurred about eight miles west of Cheney on state Route 904.

His passenger, Donnie Flett, 35, was in satisfactory condition Saturday night. Flett was wearing his seat belt. Police were not sure if Sijohn was.
