Guardrail going up along scenic byway
SANDPOINT – A 400-foot-long guardrail is being installed on a stretch of the Pend Oreille Scenic Byway where the Idaho State Police say at least five fatal crashes have occurred.
The most recent death happened in July when a 2-year-old from Sagle was killed in a crash that ended with a sport utility vehicle overturned in a meander of the Pack River.
The Idaho Transportation Department told the Bonner County Daily Bee that the cost of the project on Highway 200 is $22,000.
