Poundstone will emcee local rally
Spokane’s version of the Rally to Restore Sanity – a satire of national rallies planned by comedian Jon Stewart – will feature a national headliner of its own.
Comedian Paula Poundstone, who is in Spokane for other shows, will serve as master of ceremonies for the Spokane event at noon Saturday on the floating stage in Riverfront Park, organizers said. The primary rally, in Washington, D.C., starts at 9 a.m. PDT.
There are no announced plans for a local version of the other political satire event, Stephen Colbert’s March to Keep Fear Alive.
