Route 25 wreck sends six to hospital

A two-car, head-on collision on state Route 25 north of Davenport this evening sent six people to the hospital. A 72-year-old driver is being airlifted to a Spokane hospital; five others were transported by ambulance to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewlah, the Washington State Patrol said. Neither their names nor conditions were available tonight. The accident occurred about 7 p.m. 37 miles north of Davenport, WSP has reported, and has partially blocked the highway. As of 9:45 p.m., troopers were still on the scene and hadn’t yet called for tow trucks, according to a WSP dispatcher.
