In brief: Theater performs ‘Tuesdays’ this week

COEUR D’ALENE – The Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre will present special readings of “Tuesdays with Morrie,” performed by Jack Bannon and Roger Welch, on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Todd Hall in North Idaho College’s Molstead Library, 1000 W. Garden Ave.

The readings are of the script based on the novel by Mitch Albom, written about how a young man’s mentor helps him to see “the world as a more profound place.”

NIC sports boosters host kickoff event

COEUR D’ALENE – The North Idaho College Booster Club will have a “Let’s Go Cruisin’ ” sunset cruise on Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Lake Coeur d’Alene. Boarding begins at 6 p.m. at Independence Point.

The evening cruise will kick off the upcoming 2010-’11 season and raise money for NIC athletics. The event will also be an opportunity for attendees to meet this season’s Cardinal coaches and team captains during a pre-cruise function from 5 to 6:15 p.m. The pre-cruise function will be at the Human Rights Education Institute Building on the northeast corner of Coeur d’Alene City Park on Mullan.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in the NIC Athletics Office inside Post Hall on NIC’s main campus The event is open to the public.

All proceeds will benefit NIC athletics through the NIC Booster Club.
