Fisherman missing, feared drowned

BRIDGEPORT, Wash. – Searchers have been unable to find a Tonasket man who fell off an inflatable motorboat into the rough waters of the Columbia River near Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon. Gary A. Rillera, 63, is missing and feared drowned, said Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal. Rillera was fishing with a friend about one mile west of Bridgeport when he fell off the 10-foot boat, Gjesdal said. Douglas and Okanogan county marine units and private boaters searched the river until 11 p.m. Saturday. The search will continue today, Gjesdal said.
