Free Health Screenings and Services – AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour is offering free screenings which include total cholesterol levels, blood pressure, bone density, glucose levels, waist circumference and body mass index. These will help provide adults with a critical foundation for early disease detection and prevention. Recommended for adults age 18 and older, no appointment is necessary. Visitors also have access to free educational information on a variety of health and wellness issues. Free one-year AARP memberships will be given to participants who receive screenings. Southside Senior Activity Center Classes – Balance and Agility: Designed for those who need additional help with balance and control and help improving the way they walk. Held Thursdays, Sept. 9-Oct. 14, 1-2 p.m. Balance and Agility 2: Designed for those who want to further enhance the way they respond to balance and increase strength and agility. Held Thursdays, Sept. 9-Oct. 14, 2-3 p.m. Fitball for Seniors: New exercise class designed for seniors (ages 50 and older). Use a stability ball to sit while doing a simple aerobic workout. Exercises will strengthen the arms, legs and abs while listening to a simple music rhythm.
