Man stabbed in downtown altercation

One Spokane man is in the hospital and police arrested another after an altercation at Pacific Avenue and Division Street after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Spokane Police Department spokesman Sgt. Kevin King said the injured man sustained chest stab wounds they believe are not life threatening. He was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment. After officers arrived, they pursued the stabbing suspect on foot. The suspect hid outside of his girlfriend’s apartment building,the Kensington Court Apartments on 156 South Pine St., but a police dog located him. Officers found the knife used in the stabbing, and are still investigating the cause of the conflict, King said.
