Meeting will discuss changes

EAST VALLEY – Parents and residents are encouraged to attend a meeting Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the board room of the East Valley School District, 12325 E. Grace Ave., to discuss sweeping changes in the way the district teaches its students.

The board and community have been in discussions for most of the year about how to teach elementary-age children. Some ideas in the works include pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade schools, schools for children in pre-kindergarten through the third grade and schools for students in fourth through the eighth grade and a third option is now under consideration – a combination of these two ideas.

The conversation about these changes is ongoing and more meetings to discuss these changes will be held in the coming months.

For more information, call the East Valley School District at (509) 924-1830.
