Indians could clinch crown

Baseball: The Spokane Indians will attempt to keep their perfect record intact by calling upon a pitcher with a perfect record.

Tim Stanford (6-0) is scheduled to start at 7:05 tonight when Spokane seeks to wrap up the best-of-3 Northwest League championship series at Everett. Spokane won the opener 4-1 at home on Thursday night.

The Indians have won all eight NWL championship series in which they’ve played.

Stanford began the season in the bullpen but worked his way into the starting rotation in early August after his ERA dropped to 0.78.

Spokane has outscored postseason rivals 15-3 this week.

Time to call ’em as you see ’em

Horse racing: Two horses whose stretch duel became an Internet sensation are headed for a rematch.

Mywifenosevrything and Thewifedoesnt- know both are entered in Sunday’s eighth race at Monmouth Park in New Jersey.

Their first meeting on Aug. 22 produced a stretch call for the ages by track announcer Larry Collmus:

“Mywifenosevrything. Thewifedoesntknow. They’re one-two. Of course they are!”

Mywifenosevrything won by two lengths.
