Education Notes: CdA Charter Academy hosts road rally contest

Students at Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, along with members of the community, will compete in the “Rally for Education” on Sept. 25.

Competitors will take part in the afternoon road rally by following directions and solving clues at pit stops throughout Kootenai County. Teams will include a driver and a navigator and up to four passengers, in their own car.

Each car will leave a starting line at set intervals and accurate time, to be measured to the nearest second. Each pit stop will serve as a time check station, where the competitors will use their smarts to complete their challenge and receive clues to their next destination.

Teams can celebrate at the finish line at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds and enjoy dinner, live entertainment, prizes and raffles. The rally will begin at the school, 4904 N. Duncan Drive in Coeur d’Alene, at 1 p.m.

The cost to participate in the rally is $50 per car, which includes a driver and navigator, two rally T-shirts and two dinner tickets. Additional passenger fees are $25 per person and include a T-shirt and a dinner ticket. Registration deadline is Friday.

For students and community members who would like to participate in the finish-line celebration, but are unable to compete in the rally, tickets are $10 per person. Dinner will be provided by Texas Roadhouse in Coeur d’Alene.

Proceeds from the Rally for Education will support college scholarships for the school’s seniors and the capital improvement fund.
