Just tweet ‘no’

The politics in Washington are such that now we have a nonfunctioning government. The party out of power’s (the Republicans now) sole goal is being obstructionists – to defeat anything the Democrats propose, without really offering a solution in return.

Therefore, we offer a solution. Send the party out of power, in this case the Republicans, back to their home state, taking with them their staff and functionaries. The only downer for them would be losing their many Washington perks. Supply them with an office, a cell phone and a connection to the vote tabulator in the chambers.

This is how it works. The clerk of the chamber sends a tweet to the members, using the cell phone when a vote is needed. Then, from their home base, all the member needs to do is to push the single vote button, which is, of course, always a no vote. Easy.

Now for the benefits. Here are just a few of many, and we’re sure you could find a lot more. No need for heating all those empty offices, reducing congestion by eliminating hundreds of limos, sending many of the lobbyists into the provinces, the remaining needed only to write the legislation for “in” party, and possibly a benefit to the local economy. Total savings could balance the budget.
