SCRAPS offering reduced-price cat adoptions
An animal adoption agency is offering cats at reduced prices to make room for 32 felines seized from a Spokane Valley home this week.
Cats can be adopted for $25 today, a reduction of about $40, said Nancy Hill, director of the Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service.
The fee pays for vaccinations, licenses and a microchip.
The cats removed Wednesday from a home at 4616 N. Larch Road are in a holding period to allow their owner time to petition to get them back.
Described as “quite friendly” with only minor health problems, the felines could be available for adoption in a couple weeks, Hill said.
SCRAPS still is trying to talk with the home’s owner, Julianna O. Bauer, Hill said.
