Pac-10 picks  I Vince Grippi

Picking winners is easy, as evidenced by another near perfect record last week.

Trying to outwit the guys who set the lines is quite a bit harder, as evidenced by my less-than-perfect record last week.

Oh well, another week, another chance to look idiotic.

As always, the listed line is for your entertainment purposes only. All games are Saturday unless listed otherwise.

Stanford at Notre Dame, (Stanford by 4.5): The Irish home-field advantage has to be at least six points, double other places. Which means I think the Cardinal are a couple of touchdowns better. Stanford 31-24.

UCLA at Texas (Texas by 16): I’m still not sold on the Bruins, no matter what happened last week. Texas 42-10.

California at Arizona (Arizona by 6.5): I am, however, sold on the Wildcats. And selling the Bears. Arizona 42-14.

Oregon at Arizona State (Oregon by 11): The Ducks are the class of the Pac-10. They may start slowly, but they’ll finish with a flourish. Oregon 31-3.

Oregon State at Boise State (BSU by 17): The powers that be in college football are rooting for the Beavers, quite possibly for the first time. They will be disappointed. Boise State 35-17.

USC at Washington State (USC by 22): Can the Cougars upset the Trojans? Yes. Will they? Probably not. USC 24-17.

Last week: 8-2 overall, 4-5 vs. spread; Season: 24-4 overall, 14-7 vs. spread.
