Man in custody on rape, kidnapping charges
A suspected rapist is in custody after authorities were alerted to a sexual assault early Sunday in north Spokane.
Christopher Michael Clough, 29, was apprehended in connection with the 1:27 a.m. sexual assault and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping and first-degree criminal impersonation, according to Spokane police.
The alleged victim did not know the attacker, police said, and it was unclear Sunday what led to the criminal impersonation charge.
