Ramming car, pointing rifle lands man in jail

By The Spokesman-Review

Spokane police arrested a 59-year-old man early today after he allegedly rammed another vehicle and pointed a rifle at the victim who followed him.

Ramsay A. Munden was booked into Spokane County Jail on three charges of first-degree assault for the ramming and pointing the rifle at two people along with a charge of attempting to elude an officer.

The victim told police he was driving downtown when a reckless pickup driver attempted to pass him but could not.

The pickup driver reappeared at another location and rammed the victim’s vehicle. The victim went to get a friend and then reported the incident to police by cell phone, Spokane police said.

The victim encountered the pickup driver a third time at a supermarket parking lot in Browne’s Addition. The driver of the pickup pulled a rifle and pointed it at the victim and his friend and then sped off eastbound on Second Avenue.

Police got to the scene and tried to stop the pickup driver, but he sped away and the officer decided not to pursue.

Officers later found the pickup near Third Avenue and McClellan Street and arrested Munden a short distance away.
