Local chefs inducted into honor society
The American Culinary Federation recently recognized three Spokane chefs for their work in the professional organization and the community.
Chefs Raymond Delfino, Douglas Fisher and Robert Lombardi were inducted into the American Academy of Chefs, the honor society of the ACF, at a dinner last month in Anaheim, Calif., with 19 others from across the country.
The honor society selects chefs who have made a significant contribution to their profession and community. They must be nominated by peers, be an ACF-certified chef and have more than 15 years of work behind them, with a decade of that spent as executive …

The American Culinary Federation recently recognized three Spokane chefs for their work in the professional organization and the community.
Chefs Raymond Delfino, Douglas Fisher and Robert Lombardi were inducted into the American Academy of Chefs, the honor society of the ACF, at a dinner last month in Anaheim, Calif., with 19 others from across the country.
The honor society selects chefs who have made a significant contribution to their profession and community. They must be nominated by peers, be an ACF-certified chef and have more than 15 years of work behind them, with a decade of that spent as executive chef at a full service restaurant or at least five years as a culinary educator.
Raymond Delfino – Delfino is the executive chef at Harbor Crest retirement community and the previous executive chef at the Spokane Club. He also served as executive chef at Red Lion Hotel Bellevue, in Bellevue, Wash., and Red Lion Hotel Spokane before he joined the Spokane Club in 1995.
Delfino was recognized for work with the Chef and Child Foundation’s gala dinner for the Children’s Miracle Network, the Cancer Patient Care “Mostly Merlot” dinner, and the ACF Chefs de Cuisine of the Inland Northwest.
Douglas Fisher – Fisher has been a culinary arts instructor at the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy at the Spokane Community College since 1975. He also serves as a banquet chef at Beverly’s at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Fisher is a 1971 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, N.Y.
His work with the ACF Chefs de Cuisine of the Inland Northwest was recognized.
Robert Lombardi – Lombardi is corporate executive chef for Black Rock Development and the Club at Black Rock and a culinary arts instructor at the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy at Spokane Community College.
He was recognized for his efforts with the Chef and Child Foundation fundraiser dinner for the Children’s Miracle Network and the numerous awards he has won from the ACF Chefs de Cuisine of the Inland Northwest.
