Wellesley reopens at Division ahead of schedule

Wellesley Avenue at Division Street was being reopened to traffic this afternoon after construction of a new concrete intersection resulted in a closure of east-west traffic in recent weeks. A contractor replaced the old asphalt pavement with a Portland cement concrete material. The work was completed six days ahead of schedule. The job is the first step in a resurfacing of Division from Euclid to Francis avenues. Asphalt paving on that stretch, excluding the intersection at Wellesley, will begin in the spring.
