In brief: St. Patrick’s to host dinner with deacon

St. Patrick Catholic School will present Dinner with Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers Oct. 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Center, 1316 N. Lincoln St.

Burke-Sivers will speak on the topic, “Educating Mind, Body and Soul: The Importance of Catholic Education.”

Reservations are required by Friday. The dinner is free and the school will ask for donations at the end of the evening.

Green Bluff UMC plans apple festival

Green Bluff United Methodist Church Center, 9908 E. Green Bluff Road, will present its annual Apple Festival Craft & Bake Sale Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9 and 10 and Oct. 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

The event will include entertainment, crafts, apple pie and dumplings with hot vanilla sauce.
