Indian ballet coming to Bing
The South Asia Cultural Association will present “Shrishti (Creation),” an Indian dance drama about the River Ganges and its pollution problems, Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave.
The ballet will feature 10 musicians and dancers from India, with elaborate lighting and costuming.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students with ID, $5 for children ages 2 to 12 (younger children admitted free), through TicketsWest outlets (800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com). Snacks catered by Taste of India will be available for purchase from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
Lecture-demonstration programs on the music and dances of India will be presented free today at 11:30 a.m. at Spokane Falls Community College, Spartan Theater, Humanities Building 5, 3410 W. Fort George Drive, and at 3 p.m. at Shadle Library, 2111 W. Wellesley Ave.
