Rahm Emanuel expected to resign Friday
WASHINGTON — Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama’s chief of staff and one of the most visible members of his administration, will resign Friday, The Wall Street Journal is reporting.
His successor, at least temporarily, is expected to be Pete Rouse, the newspaper reported today. Rouse is a senior White House adviser who served as Obama’s chief of staff when he was a senator.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said today that the president would make a “personnel announcement” Friday morning at 11:05 in the White House East Room. While he refused to say what that announcement would be, he spoke effusively about the “complete loyalty and trust” the president has in Rouse and the “strategic sense” he brings to the White House.
Emanuel has been considering waging a campaign for mayor of Chicago. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley has said he will not seek re-election next year. Candidates to succeed him must file petitions by Nov. 22 for the February general election.

It is sad to see what Emanuel has become.
He was very cute when he played Webster. I think he was Urkel too. Why he decided to branch into politics - Socialist, Demoncrat politics - is beyond me. Cute kid, but he shouldn’t be mayor of Chicago.
When hubby told me the news, I used Emanuel’s old catch phrase - “What choo talkin’ bout Lillith!?!”
He spewed coffee into his oxygen tubing. Sometimes, we have too much fun.
HEAR OUR VOICE!!!

As a progressive liberal all I can say is……..THANK YOU!!! He was a horribly disappointing chief of staff and I am glad he is leaving, I just wish it happened 2 years ago.

Amazing that my comment got removed. I am simply saying the average person, let alone the people on this board have no idea what happens in the White House. That’s ok, just print the insane ramblings. Very helpful.

The next mayor of Chicago!
I’m not sorry to see him go, though. I did not like him as chief of staff. Now if only Robert Gibbs would go. And then switch the positions held by Clinton and Biden before 2012…
Obama/Clinton in 2012! ; )
