Graves gets 10-year deal

Gonzaga women’s basketball head coach Kelly Graves signed a new 10-year contract with the Bulldogs, athletic director Mike Roth announced Friday.

“I am so thrilled to be here. I love Gonzaga,” said Graves in a school press release. “I love Spokane and am looking forward to being the coach here for a very long time.”

Graves has coach the Bulldogs for 11 seasons with his team reaching the Elite Eight for the first time this season before finishing with a 31-5 overall record and as champions again of the West Coast Conference.

The Bulldogs have reached the NCAA tournament for three consecutive seasons and four out of the last five years.

The Bulldogs also captured their seventh straight WCC title in 2010-11, going undefeated for the second year in a row. Graves was named WCC Coach of the Year for the sixth time.

He owns a 232-119 overall mark as the head coach at Gonzaga and a 112-42 record in conference action.
