In brief: Orchard Crest marks Earth Day
SPOKANE VALLEY – The Orchard Crest Retirement Community, 222 S. Evergreen Road, will hold its second annual Earth Day celebration on April 16, from 1 to 3 p.m.
The event will include representatives from Spokane Regional Solid Waste System, SNAP Living Green, Spokane Regional Clean Air, Inland Northwest Wildlife Council and Clean Green and will provide information, products and money-saving ideas on how to better the planet and conserve energy. Featured speaker Phyllis Stephen will share her secrets of a green thumb.

Church hosting concert, social
Otis Orchards Community Church, 23304 E. Wellesley Ave., will present an evening of bluegrass, swing, jazz and gospel music Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The concert will feature 5MOR, Molly and Tenbrooks, Frank Wiprud, Christie Jones, Craig Catlett, John Contreras and special guest Stephen King.
The evening will conclude with an ice cream social.
