In brief: Second annual drive for diapers scheduled

SPOKANE VALLEY – Inland Northwest Baby will hold its second annual Stuff the Bus community diaper drive Thursday through next Saturday.

A bus will be parked at Central Valley High School on Thursday and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A bus will also be parked at Walgreens, 7905 N. Division St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Central Valley Pep Band will provide entertainment for the CVHS event.

Stuff the Bus collected 15,000 diapers their first year and have raised their goal to 25,000. The biggest need is for diapers in sizes 3 through 5, but all sizes will be accepted, including open packages. Diaper wipes and pull-ups are also needed.

Registrations being taken for dodgeball league

SPOKANE VALLEY – The city of Spokane Valley, city of Spokane and Spokane County Parks and Recreation Departments are now accepting registrations from people, 18 and older, interested in participating in the summer dodgeball league.

Games will be Wednesdays, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., June 22 through Aug. 10. Games will be played at Riverfront Park. Cost is $195 for each team, six to 10 players per team.

Teams are encouraged to dress up for games in crazy costumes, such as superheroes, pop singers and sports stars.
