Driver hurt when car hits semi

From Staff Reports

A Sandpoint woman was hospitalized Saturday morning after hitting a semitruck and driving off an embankment on state Highway 95 near Sagle.

Sierra J. Anderson, 28, was negotiating a curve in a northbound Kia Spectra when she crossed the centerline and hit a southbound semi, driven by Ken Hofer, 50, of Manitoba, about 10:41 a.m., according to Idaho State Police.

Anderson ran off the road and down an embankment. She was taken to Bonner General Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition Saturday evening. Hofer was not injured.

Police say alcohol was not a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
