Two trucks hit, kill wandering horse near Reardan

The Washington State Patrol reported this morning that a horse was struck and killed on U.S. Highway 2 about six miles east of Reardan just after 4 a.m. The horse, which had apparently wandered onto the highway, was initially hit by a semi truck in the westbound lane. The horse was knocked into the eastbound lane and then hit by a pickup truck, which went off the highway. Drivers of both vehicles had minor injuries. The highway’s westbound lane was blocked for nearly two hours.
