Dish ruling OK’d

CHICAGO – The U.S. Court of Appeals upheld a district court finding of contempt and award of sanctions against satellite broadcaster Dish Network parent EchoStar Communications Corp. for failing to comply with an injunction that demanded EchoStar turn over millions of its DVRs because they were found by a Texas court in 2005 to have infringed upon certain TiVo Inc. copyrights.

Dish said Wednesday it intends to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review the latest ruling.
