Pe Ell, Wash., man killed in I-90 accident

A man from Pe Ell, Wash., was killed Sunday night in a traffic accident on Interstate 90 just west of Spokane, the Washington State Patrol said. William L. Ainsworth, 73, died at the scene of the collision about 8 miles west of downtown Spokane. He was headed east in a 1994 Lincoln Town Car, but traveling in one of the westbound lanes about 8:40 p.m., troopers said. Ainsworth collided with a 2000 Hyundai Elantra driven by Jessica L. Sharp, 20, of Liberty Lake, in a head-on collision. Sharp was headed west. She was initially taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A third driver, Jackie C. Borup, 35, of Moses Lake, was also involved in the accident. She was also headed west in a 2011 Toyota Camry. Borup was taken to Sacred Heart. Borup’s passenger. Andrea C. Borup, 9, of Moses Lake, was also taken to Sacred Heart. The accident is under investigation.
