Your week

YOUR HEALTH

Ear infections may be a common part of childhood, but there are ways to reduce the risk:

• Breastfeed your baby. Nursing for six to 12 months significantly lowers the risk of infection.

• Avoid cigarette smoke. Children exposed to secondhand smoke are twice as likely to suffer from chronic ear infections.

• Keep up on immunizations, including vaccinations against flu and pneumonia.

• Dust and vacuum regularly and get an allergy test if your child seems sensitive to certain foods.

• Consider surgery. Small, temporary ear tubes can help drain fluid that serves as a breeding ground for bacteria.

YOUR HOME

Can’t find the right color of tile? Imagine Tile has it covered.

The company lets you custom-order ceramic tile in any color, in a variety of sizes and finishes.

It uses color-matching technology to formulate a tile glaze that exactly matches the hue of a paint chip, fabric swatch, team logo or anything else you supply.

Tiles can be ordered at www.imaginetile.com. Typical prices range from $22 to $30 per square foot for an order of 100 square feet.

YOUR FOOD

“Diavolo” may mean “devil” in Italian, but there’s nothing to fear from Chicken Diavolo, a quick dinner of chicken breasts cooked in a spicy tomato sauce. For the recipe, see Page C5.
