Farm hosts yogurt, cheese classes

Trish Vieira, owner of Spokane’s Family Farm with her husband, Mike, is hosting a series of yogurt and cheese classes starting Saturday. Classes will be held at the Spring Hill Grange on Coulee Hite Road just down the hill from the farm.

Saturday’s classes will cover Greek yogurt and mozzarella cheese and will be held 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Each two hour session is $35 and babysitting will be available in an adjoining room.

Each participant will get a half gallon of milk from Spokane’s Family Farm. Those who want yogurt starter cultures should bring a container.

Vieira is also planning classes May 21 and May 21 at the grange. Future classes will cover cottage cheese, ricotta, feta and more.

To reserve a place in class or get more details call the farm (509) 796-3276 or email tvieira@centurytel.net.
