Keep non in nonfiction
I’ve not been to Pakistan, nor Afghanistan, nor have I climbed K2. I do not know who Greg Mortenson or John Krakauer are. I, however, do know that it is wrong to condone lies and mistruths because the end result is what you want.
Mary Joan Hahn of Gonzaga University, Darin Watkins of Washington State University and especially Claudia Wohlfeil of the University of Idaho need to revisit their “it’s OK to lie” philosophy. Mr. Mortenson may claim “literary license” for his books, but lies have no place in nonfiction books or stories. Quit the coverup, Hahn, Watkins and Wohlfeil.
