Fourth suspect sought in arson case

Three people are in custody in connection with a recent arson fire in the 4400 block of East 15th Avenue in Spokane Valley and a fourth person, Aleksander N. Shingarey, 23, is being sought on a charge of first-degree arson. The group allegedly set fire to the home because of a dispute with the resident.

Sergey A. Kravchenko, 27, and Maksim P. Oboznyy, 21, were arrested Friday. Roman I. Ryakhovskaya, 21, turned himself in Saturday. All remain in the Spokane County Jail on $100,000 bail, said Fire Marshal Kevin Miller.

The arson fire, which caused more than $100,000 in damage, was reported at 3 a.m. on July 24 while the family renting the home was out of town.

The family was able to identify possible suspects, Miller said. “They gave us some possible suspects, then we ran those guys down,” he said.

According to an affidavit filed in Spokane County Superior Court, the victim was involved with a dispute over wages with a friend of the men suspected of being involved in the arson. Before the house was set on fire a flat screen television and a laptop were stolen from the home, according to court documents.
