Educate yourself

The Tea Party anarchists and Republicans are fighting our government by trying to shut it down, which will result in even greater overall job loss. They are threatening to cut Social Security by calling it an “entitlement program,” when it is really the system that we have been paying into for decades to provide some measure of security in our old age.

How can middle-class people be expected to feel sorry for very wealthy people, many of whom exhibit absolute greed and are happy to see a percentage of the American people vote for corporate welfare, tax cuts for luxury items, and tax breaks on income for the wealthiest Americans?

Read the book “Free Lunch, How the Wealthiest Americans Enrich Themselves at Government Expense” by David Cay Johnson. You will learn about government transfers of land and money to corporations and how banks and insurance companies are “too big to fail.” You will cringe when you read about how the wealthy are getting by without paying their fair share of taxes while U.S. workers are more productive than ever.

Educate yourself so you can see past the flag waving to see the true intentions of these “patriots.”
