Moving fire station cheaper, safer

This is in response to the Vocal Point in the Aug 4 Voice section of the newspaper.

The article talks about a public hazard for the increased response time from Station 1.

How about moving the fire station between the two streets? On page one of this section, it talks about building a new Station 1 at Newman Lake at a cost of $2 million. In the Vocal Point article it states that the cost of re-doing Sprague will be $6 million or more.

We might be able to save $4 million by having a new station built at a different location with access to both one-way streets that would allow the firefighters/first responders to eliminate the increased time to respond to life-threatening situations and keep motorists happy with the current two one-way streets that facilitate decreased commute times.
