Sierra Bezdicek advances at NWJGA Championships

Seventh-seeded Sierra Bezdicek of Colbert and Mt. Spokane High School defeated No. 10 seed Cassanda McKinley of Shoreline, Wash., 5 and 4 in the first round of match play at the Pacific Northwest Junior Girls Amateur Golf Championship on Tuesday at Arrowhead Golf Course in Molalla, Ore.

Sierra’s sister, 14th-seeded Savana, lost 1-up to the third seed, Amanda Beyke from Federal Way, Wash.

Sierra will face second-seeded Morgan Thompson of Tualatin, Ore., in today’s quarterfinal round.
