Temperatures stay below normal today

Temperatures are expected to run about five degrees below normal today after a low-pressure system moved across the region on Wednesday, bringing mild and dry Pacific air with it. Highs should top out around 80 degrees with mostly sunny skies. The high in Spokane on Wednesday was 78 degrees. The normal high for this time of year is 85. This is the warmest period of the year on average. As higher air pressure replaces the low, temperatures will begin to climb again, reaching 86 on Friday and 90 on Saturday. Another drop in temperatures is likely on Sunday with a comfortable high of 82 degrees. Monday should reach 79. Sun is expected through the period. Lows should be in the 50s. At 7 a.m., it was 52 degrees at Spokane International Airport, 57 at Felts Field, 55 in Coeur d’Alene and 53 in Deer Park.
