Police seek back-stabbing assailant

Spokane police are looking for man who stabbed another man in the back then fled on foot. About 8:41 p.m. Friday, Spokane police responded to the 4800 block of North Lacey for a report of a stabbing, according to a Spokane Police Department news release. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 30-year-old Spokane man who suffered a single stab wound. He sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The assailant fled on foot, the news release said. Officers secured the area and a K-9 team unsuccessfully attempted to track him. The victim told police he met the man Friday and that the two had been walking around Northeast Spokane all day. The victim said he and the man got in an argument and the man stabbed him. He is described as a white male, 25 to 30 years old, with a shaved head or very short hair and crooked or missing teeth. His name might be Steve or Steven.
