Motorcyclists injured in Adams County crash

A Spokane Valley man was airlifted to a hospital after crashing his motorcycle in Adams County this evening. Charles T. Herner, 72, was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition. He was northbound on Highway 261 on a Harley-Davidson when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road, according to the Washington State Patrol. His passenger, Laraine E. Herner, 69, was transported to East Adams Rural Hospital, then taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center by ambulance. Her condition is not yet available. WSP responded to the crash at 3:38 p.m. Charges are pending, according to the news release. Both were wearing a helmet.
