Nicks shows integrity

Congratulations to Assistant Chief Jim Nicks for showing that a high degree of integrity and character is alive and well in the Spokane Police Department. I also agree wholeheartedly with former County Prosecutor James Sweetser in his evaluation of this “Spokane Two Step” we’re seeing with city officials.

Perhaps they have indeed forgotten that they represent the citizens of the city and county. As per Mr. Sweetser, “… honesty has to take precedence over tricky litigation tactics.”

I’m also a little confused with Mayor Verner’s definition of a “transparent government.” From the outside looking in, it appears very muddy.

I’d also like to say to Harry Hansen, of Liberty Lake, regarding his “Justice for Creaches” letter (Aug. 10), I agree with your questions concerning Mr. Creach’s death, but did you really expect anything but distorted justification?

The Creach family should take the findings of the Sheriff’s Office and their questions directly to the FBI for an unbiased opinion.
