Fiery crash slowed traffic near Rockford Bay

Three persons were injured on Sunday in a collision that caused one vehicle to burst into flames, the Idaho State Police said.

Rachael Maher, 19, of Silverdale, Wash., was headed north on U.S. Highway 95 at Rockford Bay Road when another driver pulled out in front of her, the Idaho State Police said. She was in a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon.

The other driver, who was westbound, was identified as Chelsey M. Bucko, 24, Spokane Valley.

Bucko’s 1992 Jeep Cherokee burst into flames, police said.

Bucko was headed west on Rockford Bay Road and pulled out in front of Maher, police said. The crash blocked northbound lanes for an hour, police said

Both drivers were treated for injuries. Daniel Maher, a passenger in Maher’s vehicle, was in good condition today at Kootenai Medical Center.
