A teenager from Auburn, Wash., died Sunday afternoon when the van he was riding in rolled over on Interstate 90 west of Spokane.
Tucker Johnson, 17, died at the scene of the accident, one mile west of Ritzville, the Washington State Patrol said.
Johnson was one of five passengers in a 1996 Ford Club van driven by Diana Vanquill, 44, also of Auburn. Three other passengers were children ages 15 and younger.
The van was traveling westbound shortly before 3 p.m. when the left rear tire failed, causing the vehicle to roll over onto the shoulder, the state patrol said.
Tucker was not wearing a seat belt, according to police.
