Santa to visit Fire District 9 areas

Firefighters from Spokane County Fire District 9 will be riding along with Santa on his annual visits to local neighborhoods on the following dates leading up to Christmas. He’ll be leaving his sleigh at the North Pole and will be traveling by fire truck.

Beginning today, Santa will be in the Farwell Elementary and Shady Slope neighborhoods and head north between Highway 2 and Market Street, from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, from 4 to 9 p.m., he’ll be in Camelot and Forest Glen and West Glen neighborhoods. Tuesday, Santa will visit the neighborhood north of Farwell to Fairview and then head to Red Roan Drive, Overview Drive, Morrill Drive, Sorrel Ave. and Camelia Drive, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Santa will stop by the area east of Market, from 6 to 9 p.m., visiting any neighborhoods missed around Morrill Drive, Sorrel Avenue and Camelia Drive.

On Dec. 9, from 6 to 9 p.m., Santa will visit the Northwoods neighborhood.

On Dec. 10, he’ll visit the area south of Farwell and west of Market, beginning at Station 92 and ending in the Mead Royale neighborhood. At 5 p.m., Santa will stop by Frasier Estates, then the Pasadena Ridge Apartments and he’ll end his visit at Pasadena Park Elementary School.

On Dec. 15, Santa will visit the Linwood area, south of the cemetery from Division Street to Monroe Street from 5 to 8 p.m.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Dec. 16, Santa will visit the Tormey and Hedin neighborhoods, along with the Nine Mile area, leaving from Station 97 to Inch, down Charles to Highland, back to Katie and Maybob, to Birdie, to Bluegrass, to the end of Westshore, back past Station 97, down to Charles to Southbank, Waterview and Westlake, and weave his way through Northwoods neighborhoods, covering most of the main streets, between 6 and 9 p.m. He’ll also visit the Linwood neighborhood, between Monroe and Country Homes Boulevard, between 4 and 8 p.m.

On Dec. 17, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Santa will be at Albertsons in the Wandermere neighborhood. At 5 p.m., he’ll begin a run through neighborhoods north and south of the Sun Dance Golf Course. He will visit at Frazier Estates, Pasadena Ridge Apartments and end at Pasadena Park Elementary School. He’ll then continue to neighborhoods in the Morgan Acres area. At 6:15 p.m., Santa will be in the Foothills neighborhoods, beginning at the Forker and Scribner intersection, Forker and Foothills at 6:30 p.m., Forker and Template at 6:45 p.m., Forker and Lincoln at 7:15 p.m., and Forker and Judkins at 7:30 p.m.

On Dec. 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., he’ll be in the Five Mile Prairie area south of Strong Road.

And, on Dec. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., Santa will visit Five Mile Prairie, north of Strong Road.

During his visits, Santa will collect nonperishable food items to donate to local food banks.
