LC boys roar back to top CV
It was two games for the price of one Tuesday at Central Valley.
Trailing 37-26 at halftime, the Lewis and Clark Tigers outscored the Bears 45-30 in the second half to take a 71-67 win in Greater Spokane League boys basketball openers.
LC’s Jeff Livingston scored a team-high 20 points, hitting 5 of 7 3-pointers. Teammate Tanner Johnson added 16 points and 10 rebounds and Austin Damon had 12 points.
Gaven Deyarmin led CV with 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Anthony Brommer had 15 points.
Gonzaga Prep 58, Ferris 43: It took a league opener to shake the Bullpups loose.
After dropping two nonleague games last week, defending State 4A champion Gonzaga Prep bounced back in fine fashion. Ryan Gregory led the Bullpups with 19 points. Reed Hopkins scored 13 of his 16 in the pivotal third quarter when G-Prep outscored the visiting Saxons 21-12. TJ Bracey added 10.
Chase Haack led Ferris with 12 points and Chris Wilson had 10.
Shadle Park 65, Rogers 46: It was a four-point game until Brett Boese and Kionte Brown took over for the visiting Highlanders in the fourth.
They combined for 17 of Shadle’s 27 points in the period. They each scored 23 points.
Amaujae Daniels and Carson Murray led the Pirates with 15 and 13 points, respectively.
Mt. Spokane 50, North Central 42: Tanner Kissinger had 10 points and five steals and Riley Drumheller had 10 points and eight rebounds as the Wildcats topped the visiting Indians.
Chase McDuffie led NC with 12 points and Chandler George had 10.
University 76, Mead 42: The Titans’ balance was too much for the visiting Panthers to overcome.
Jared Miller and Brett Bailey each had 16 points and Zech Martin had 13 to lead U-Hi. Miller also had six assists and four steals.
Forest Baker led Mead with 19 points and four rebounds.
