Elected The first man to win titles in four divisions, Thomas “Hitman” Hearns, tops a list of 13 people elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum. Hearns, who won five titles altogether, compiled a 155-8 amateur record and was 61-5-1 with 48 knockouts as a pro. Also selected were: Mark Johnson, a two-division champion; ring announcer Michael Buffer; trainer Freddie Roach; broadcaster Al Bernstein; and journalist Michael Katz. Induction day is June 10.

Sentenced Former NBA star Antoine Walker was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $770,050 in restitution to three Las Vegas casinos after pleading guilty to failing to repay gambling debts. Walker has repaid some of his Las Vegas casino debts since his arrest in July 2009. The felony charge could be dismissed if Walker fully repays the remaining debts.

Traded The Chicago White Sox traded closer Sergio Santos to the Toronto Blue Jays, sending him back to the organization where he spent three seasons trying to make the majors as a shortstop. Toronto gave up pitching prospect Nestor Molina.

• The Minnesota Twins traded winless pitcher Kevin Slowey to the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named. Slowey went 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA last season. He made eight starts and six relief appearances and the Twins went 0-14 in those games.

Honored The NCAA will honor Tennessee coach Pat Summitt with the 2012 Gerald R. Ford Award. The award recognizes a person who has been an advocate for college athletics over the course of his or her career.

Selected Marathon world-record holder Paula Radcliffe is aiming for her first Olympic medal in five tries after making Britain’s team for the 2012 London Games.

Fired The crew chief for Denny Hamlin, Mike Ford, was let go after a disappointing season in which the duo failed to contend for the championship. Ford’s future with the team had been subject to speculation most of the season because of how far Hamlin’s performance had dropped from 2010, when he nearly won the Sprint Cup title.
