Lions stop ISU in OT

LOS ANGELES – C.J. Blackwell pulled down 11 rebounds and scored 13 points, including the free throw that sent the game into overtime, as part of Loyola Marymount’s 80-72 nonconference men’s basketball victory over Idaho State on Saturday night.

The Lions (6-4) were down by 10 points midway through the second half but tied it on a 15-5 run capped by a pair of free throws from Blackwell with only 1 second left.

The Lions pulled ahead in overtime, with Anthony Ireland scoring half of the team’s 12 points in extra play. Ireland finished with 13 points.

Jarred DuBois led Loyola Marymount with 15 points while LaRon Armstead added 14.

Kenny McGowen scored a game-high 21 points for the Bengals, while Chase Grabau, Melvin Morgan and Sherrod Baldwin added 11 each.
