Eagles roll to victory

The Eastern Washington women’s basketball team played like it was glad to be home.

After a grueling five-game road swing, the Eagles returned to Reese Court Monday and produced a 68-55 win over Eastern Oregon (9-3).

Eastern (5-5) opened the game on a 15-2 run, with nine of the 15 points coming from senior captain Brianne Ryan. The Eagles never trailed in the contest.

Eastern senior point guard Chene Cooper finished the game with a season-high 12 assists and zero turnovers – the best passing performance of any player in the Big Sky Conference this season. Cooper also had six points, five rebounds and three steals.

Ryan finished with a game-high 24 points.
