• U.S. deaths as of Dec. 15: 4,487, according to the Pentagon.

• Confirmed U.S. military wounded (hostile) as of Nov. 29: 31,921.

• Deaths of civilian employees of U.S. government contractors as of Sept. 30: More than 2,097.
