Casino foes inconsistent

Regarding Bernard Korth’s letter to the editor printed Nov. 30, “Casinos drain economy.”

Korth is against the proposed Spokane Indian Tribe’s casino being built on the western outskirts of Airway Heights. If he would apply the same logic he uses for being against the proposed Spokane Indian Tribe’s casino, he would be calling for the closure of the Kalispel Indian Tribe’s casino.

Let the consumer decide if “two casinos in such close proximity may, in fact, saturate the market.” And, besides, the Spokane Tribe’s casino would be so much closer to their ancestral home, the city of Spokane, than the Kalispel Tribe of Usk.

And regarding the Dec. 1 letter from Irv Zakheim, and others: Why didn’t you have the same objections/concerns when the Kalispels proposed building their casino? Did you even live in Spokane and own a business in Airway Heights then?

What’s really up here? You chose to build your company in Airway Heights, why do you want to negate this opportunity for another organization?
