Lewis and Clark holds on, tops Mt. Spokane

Lewis and Clark built a comfortable first-half lead and held off a Wildcats rally in the second half in a 61-52 Greater Spokane League win Tuesday at Mt. Spokane.

The Wildcats (3-4, 2-3), who trailed by 13 points to start the fourth, cut Lewis and Clark’s lead to four points with about 3 minutes left, but that was as close as they came.

Julia Moravec scored 15 points, including 9 of 11 from the line, to lead the Tigers (3-2, 3-2).

Brooke Reilly had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats.

Central Valley 57, Shadle Park 45: Brooke Gallaway made 12 of 13 free throws and finished with 26 points and eight rebounds as Central Valley (6-0, 5-0) remained undefeated with a win over the visiting Highlanders (3-4, 2-3). Freshman forward Madison Hovren added 13 points and 16 rebounds for the Bears. Kaycee Hert led Shadle Park with 13 points.

Gonzaga Prep 73, Rogers 24: Freshman Laura Stockton scored 14 points and freshman Otiona Gildon added seven points and eight rebounds as the Bullpups (4-1, 4-1) overwhelmed the host Pirates (1-5, 0-5). Kayla Leland added five points, six steals and four assists for Gonzaga Prep.

University 57, Ferris 40: Morgan Hawley knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 17 points as the Titans (6-1, 4-1) beat the host Saxons (1-4, 1-4). Kayleigh Valley had 14 points and nine rebounds and Hallie Gennett added 11 points and nine boards for University. Brittney Johnson led Ferris with 10 points.

Mead 58, North Central 32: After a back-and-forth first half, the Panthers (2-5, 2-3) dominated the final two quarters in a win over the host Indians (2-5, 2-3). Courtney Hutchinson had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Jade Redmon added 14 points for the Panthers. Brianna King had nine points and seven rebounds.

Bi-County League

Reardan 56, Colfax 42: Kelsey Moos had 14 points and 13 rebounds as the Indians (7-0, 5-0) beat the host Bulldogs (3-2, 3-1). Ali Lilengreen added 13 points for Reardan. Misty Skelton led Colfax with 13 points.

Kettle Falls 35, Liberty 26: The Bulldogs (2-6, 2-4) took advantage of the poor-shooting Lancers (0-7, 0-5) in a win at Liberty. Randi Goodnight scored eight points to lead Kettle Falls. The Lancers got six points apiece from Jenna Galler and Kate Nelson.

Springdale 48, Davenport 33: Taylor Smith, who had a 27-point game last week, made 8 of 11 free throws and finished with 23 points to lead the Chargers (3-4, 3-2) past the visiting Gorillas (3-3, 2-3). Davenport was led by Miranda Mielke’s 18 points.

Nonleague

Lake City 62, West Valley 27: After a competitive first half, the Timberwolves (5-4) found another gear in a rout of the host Eagles (2-3). Jasmyn Smith made six 3-pointers and Jansen Butler hit five 3s to lead Lake City.

Deer Park 55, Bonners Ferry 50: Tessa Heins scored 11 of her game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter and the Stags (3-3) edged the host Badgers (4-4). Jenna Gust scored 15 points and Savannah Woods added 12 for Bonners Ferry.

Newport 58, Timberlake 46: Miranda Frederick scored 21 points and Taylor Lewis added 18 as the Grizzlies (7-1) jumped ahead early and never looked back in a win over the host Tigers (6-3) at Spirit Lake.

Freeman 64, Priest River 28: Alyssa Maine had 16 points and four assists and Sierra McGarity added 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Scotties (6-0) whipped the visiting Spartans (6-4). Liz Halcro scored a team-high 13 points for Priest River.

Selkirk 60, Chewelah 45: Courtney Holter scored 13 of her game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Rangers (7-3) ran past the host Cougars (1-5). Katie Couch and Annie Couch added 10 apiece for Selkirk, which outscored Chewelah by 13 points in the fourth. Brittney Wuesthoff led the Cougars with 15 points.

Okanogan 42, Colville 39: Kara Staggs scored 15 points as the Bulldogs edged the visiting Indians (4-3). McKenna Cabbage scored 13 points and Ashley Knight added 12 for Colville.

Republic 42, Omak 26: Alyssa Stout had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Tigers (7-1) to a rout over the host Pioneers. Brianna Brown added 12 points for Republic.

Garfield-Palouse 50, Genesee 41: Taylor Redman nailed four 3-pointers and finished with 24 points as the Vikings (5-2) beat the host Bulldogs. Kaycie Adair finished with 17 points and five steals for Garfield-Palouse.

Rosalia 51, Cusick 41: The Spartans (7-0) forced the Panthers (6-3) into 28 turnovers and won at Cusick. Briann Maley led a balanced Rosalia attack with 18 points. Mackenzie Reddish added 13 and Kristin Paulson chipped in 12 for the Spartans.

Tekoa-Oakesdale 50, Asotin 48: Alex Overton banked in a 10-foot jumper at the buzzer, giving the Nighthawks (5-3) a win over the host Panthers. Overton finished with a team-high 14 points for Tekoa-Oakesdale.

Columbia 53, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 36: Mackenzie Parrow scored 20 points and Krista Colvin added 19 as the Lions (8-0) cruised past the host Warriors (4-1). Madeline Isaak led Almira/Coulee-Hartline with 12 points.

Wilbur-Creston 56, Soap Lake 37: Brianne Goodlake scored all 13 of her points in the second half as the Wildcats (2-2) whipped the host Eagles. Alex Potts added 11 points for Wilbur-Creston.

Moses Lake Christian 56, Odessa-Harrington 47: McKenna Walker scored 25 points as Moses Lake Christian beat the host Titans (1-6). Odessa-Harrington was led by Chelsea Fisher’s 10 points and nine rebounds.

Colton 58, Kamiah 46: Haley and Jenna Moser combined for six 3-pointers and 37 points as the visiting Wildcats (7-0) rallied past the Kubs (7-1) in a matchup of undefeated teams.
